The typo that got me quoted in Disrupt Magazine
I have a policy about taking opportunities...I always take them. You never know where they may lead.
In this case, it lead to me and my podcast getting featured in Disrupt Magazine.
How?
By providing value to others without an expectation of return.
The long version: I was running a facebook ad promoting my new course on "Instant Authority" about how to pay to get yourself featured in Forbes, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, and others...when I got a facebook message from Carson Spitzke about a typo in my ad. I thanked him and offered him free access to the program.
Long story short, he runs a PR agency doing EXACTLY what I teach. He helps advisors get featured in Entrepreneur, Distriupt, and other publications. His PR agency was featured as the #3 agency in Canada...
This little exchange led to a full feature article, podcast listeners, and added credibility.
PR and providing value are really the gift that keeps on giving.
